The aim of this study is determining the effect of financial policy on national saving in Iran. For this purpose potential gross product is obtained with Prescott Hodrick filtering method. In this manner VAR method, variance analysis, take immediate response functions and correct model are used. The results show that government expenses have negative and significant effect on saving in the long term. Also tax has positive and significant effect on saving in the long term and in the short term government expenses have the maximum impact on saving.
