چکیده :

Having a long background in the diagnosis and treatment of different diseases, medicine benefits from defined and distinct scientific procedures and processes. However, a group of sciences including urban design lack decisive documents and scientifically formulated processes and methods as they are founded on creativity as well as different and sometimes contrastive approaches. On the basis of the Analytical-Inductive Method, the present article tries to study the main properties of medicine and urban design and find their overlapping and similar points in order to extract knowledge-based approaches required by urban design to deal with environment scientifically and in a process-based manner. Therefore, the authors created a process-based relationship between these two seemingly irrelevant fields on one hand, and extracted the procedural principles, required by urban designers in the third millennium, out of medicine on the other hand.
