چکیده :

In this paper, we study the magnetohydrodynamics flow, heat and mass diffusion of an electrically conducting stagnation point flowpast a stretching/shrinking sheet taking into account chemical reaction of diffusing species and internal heat generation/absorption. The novelty of the present study is of two fold; (i) to analyse the heat transfer aspect (ii) to discuss the effect of resistive electromagnetic force on the flow phenomena. The Runge Kutta method with shooting technique has been applied to solve the governing equations. The study reveals that the contribution of magnetic field is to increase the velocity setting aside the effect of shrinking velocity ratio. On the other hand, acceleration of shrinking velocity reduces the skin friction overriding the effect ofmagnetic field. Another striking result is that oscillation of temperature gradient is confined within a few layers near the plate due to the presence of magnetic field.
