Activity and employment status of women in the past two decades in Iran

Background: The role of employment in the dynamics of human life is undeniable and it can be considered the heart of the humanities and social communication. Certainly to the dynamics of women as half of the population, have a direct impact on the development community, because the aim of every society, to maximize social welfare and social welfare function of per capita income, fair distribution of income, improve education, health, welfare participation rate of social, economic, cultural, political men and women. This study aimed to assess activity and employment status of women in the past two decades in Iran. Methods: This review article by searching on Google scholar search engines and databases magiran, Sid, PubMed and iranmedex by keyword Economic participation, economic activity of women, employment and labor between 1990 and 2015 it is done. Results: The results indicated that more women in the field of social sciences, medicine, business and law have graduated. Between 85 to 90 percent of working women, wage and salary public and private sectors, and 10 to 15 percent graduate of the managerial positions are women. The relationship between the increase in women's education and the probability of finding jobs in the labor market is contradictory. In fact, people who are afforded a higher quality job, have better quality of life. The relationship between women's education and increase their employment in the public sector was positive. Factors such as knowledge and information acquired during their training period at university, despite having occupational fields appropriate to the discipline and skills acquired during their training period for women to gain job has been effective. In many studies, factors such as the number of women in need of work, was not familiar with the employers and public sector employment, from the perspective of women in the labor market are considered as obstacles. CONCLUSIONS: According to the census of the women graduates, and graduates accepted indicate an increase of women in universities and higher education institutions that will be required to work in the not too distant future. Therefore, to prevent the crisis and the loss of opportunities, planning is essential for the labor market women
