چکیده :

Static tests were performed to determine the acute toxicities (LC50) of the Chloramine–T and its maximum allowable concentration (M.A.C.) on Kutum Rutilus frisii kutum (average weight, 1.5 g) in oxygen-saturated dilution water (total hardness, 275 mg/L at 24±30C. During the experiments, the relevant physical and chemical parameters of water during the experiments were measured including PH which was in the range 7.1-7.7 the average PH, was recorded 7.5, dissolved oxygen, 78%.We carried out five treatments with three replicates and one control using the static O.E.C.D method in 20 liter aquariums that each containing 10 individual. For each treatment, three replications were conducted. The results indicated that the concentrations that were lethal to 50% of the test fish over a 96-h period (the 96-h LC50 values) were 21.4mg/L for Chloramine–T and M.A.C. value were 2.14mg/l respectively. These findings indicate that chloramine-T as a effective therapeutic chemical to treat fish disease in larval stages particularly those caused by parasites. Our study shows that Caspian Sea kutum in larval stages can tolerate relatively high concentrations of chloramine-T for short periods (up to12 h) but are highly sensitive to low concentrations over longer periods.
