چکیده :

Introduction and objectives: Cryptosporidium and Eimeria are the most important and common protozoan parasites among ruminants, especially in dairy cows that impose considerable economic losses on the livestock industry. In this study, was surveyed the prevalence of Eimeria and cryptosporidium in slaughterhouses and villages around the city of Tabriz. Materials and Methods: This study carried out on the stools of 50 dairy cows. To detection cryptosporidium was used modified Neelsen staining and the severity of Eimeria infection determined by McMaster method. Results and conclusion: Prevalence of Eimerial infection was 32 percent in the studied cows (16 cases) and the highest rate of infection observed in 2 - 4 years cows with 43.75% (7 cases). The rate of cryptosporidial infection in the studied cows was 38% (19 cases) and the most common level was observed in 1 - 3 years cows with 52.63% (10 cases), which had significant association between the infection rate and the age of infected cows (p<0.05). According to the results, the control of infection in the young cows is very important to prevent it. In addition, the parasitic infection decreases by proper hygienic management and medication controls in dairies.
