چکیده :

Aim and Background: The prevalence of antibiotic resistance among extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL)-producing E. coli has increased markedly in recent years. This could be attributed to association of multi drug resistance in ESBL producing isolates. The present study was aimed to determine the antimicrobial resistance profile of ESBL producing E. coli isolates from various clinical samples. Method: 100 clinical samples as urine, endotracheal, wound and blood were collected during 4 months from the patients referring to health centers laboratory of Marand. The isolates were identified by routine method. To identify antibiotic resistance, disc diffusion method was used and to determine frequency of CTX-M-15 gene products, phenotype and PCR methods by its specific primers were used. Findings: Among 70 isolates of E. coli, 20(20%) were isolates producing Extended Spectrum Beta Lactamases, of which (20%) had Beta Lactamases gene CTX-M-15. The highest resistance in E. coli was cefotaxime 20% and lowest resistance to imipenem 20% . Conclusion: Based on high percent , accurate performance of Antibiogram and avoiding unduly prescription of antibiotics in infections of ESBL producer organism is an unavoidable necessity.
