چکیده :

The present study was designed to evaluate the effects of ginger powder and protoxin probiotic supplementation on carcass characteristics and some blood parameters of broiler chickens. For this purpose, 240 one-day-old Ross chicks were use-allotted in a completely randomized design into four treatment groups with six replicates each. The treatment groups consist of: (1) control diet (no supplement), (2) basal diet supplemented with 1.5 kg/ton ginger powder, (3) basal diet supplemented with 1.5 kg/ton protoxin probiotic, (4) basal diet supplemented with 1 kg/ton ginger powder + 1 kg/ton protoxin probiotic, reared for 42 days. The results of this experiment showed that diet supplementation with ginger powder and protoxin probiotic increased chicks total carcass weight, spleen, bursa of Fabricius, gizzard and thymus relative weight (p>0.05) and reduced abdominal fat relative weight (p<0.05) compared to the control group. Supplementation with either ginger powder, protoxin or combination of both reduced (p<0.05) plasma cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL), high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and increased calcium and phosphor amount in broiler chickens compared to the control group at 42 days of age.
