چکیده :

This research has been conducted about the causes of failure of the junior high school students in Guilan. The research method has been descriptive-survey and Applied. The statistical population were first grade students of secondary schools in Guilan (34,401 students) and their teachers between 88-89 years. The sample size was calculated to 380 students, considering the possible failure of subjects, it was estimated to 400 students. The methods of cluster sampling, stratified, random sampling, 400 students and 200 teachers of them, were selected. The collection tool in this study was a questionnaire made by researcher and it was confirmed by the experts. Also, Cronbach's alpha coefficient of students and their teachers' questioners were calculated to 0.949 and 0.899 respectively, indicating the validity of the questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out at two levels: descriptive and inferential statistics (Kolmogorov -Smirnov test, t-test for independent groups and one-sample t-test) by use of the statistical software SPSS. , from the perspective of students about academic failure, the results showed that the effect of individual factors compared of external factors is further than other factors and in the next step, the educational factors has had the most impact on the academic failure and the other external factors such as family factors and socio - economic factors are the next priorities. In confidence level of 95%, there is a significant difference between successful and failed students' opinions. But in the teachers' point of view, the effect of external factors was more than internal factors.
