چکیده :

The zinc oxid / fullerene nanocomposites have been successfully synthesized by precipitation method . first , we have synthesized fullerenol (C60) by creating hydroxyl (-OH) group on fullerene . OH functional groups increases the solubility of fullerenes and easily react with other substances . ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized by fullerenols so that , these nanoparticles by a shell of fullerenes were surrounded . the samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) , infrared spectroscopy (FT-TR) , photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL) , scanning electron microscopy (SEM) , transmission electron microscopy (TEM) , and ultraviolet – visible (UV-VIS) spectroscopy . the enhanced photocatalytic activity is attributed to the fast transfer of photo-generated electrons from zinc oxid to fullerene , leading to low recombination rate of photo-induced electron-hole pairs .
