Using the Model of Interval AHP and TOPSIS for Selecting Raw Materials Storage Area

In the real world, many decisions must be made, are based on uncertain, insufficient or incomplete data. Therefore, decision-making under conditions of uncertainty is one of the considerable issues in everyday decisions. Selecting the appropriate storage area is one of strategic decisions for the managers of manufacturing companies. Unfortunately, in many manufacturing companies, storage area in terms of its position in the production cycle is located in the most inappropriate layout options. In this paper, six factors affecting storage area is considered. The weight of each of these factors using interval Analytical Hierarchy Process (interval AHP) is calculated. Understanding these factors and quantifying the effect of each of them for selecting the best area, using field studies and interviews with the experts of HEPCO in the form of a questionnaire has been performed. Accordingly, three options for this establishment has been introduced, and finally, with grading the options using TOPSIS the best area for raw materials storage of the company has been selected.
