چکیده :

The aim of this study was the investigation of biodiversity and richness of vegetation between ecological species group in Galarang’s protected area that is located in west of Iran. The analysis of vegetation biodiversity and richness between ecological species groups was carried out through 50 20m×20 m dimensions sample plots that were designed and located using transect’s method. Different information included vegetation (tree, shrub, bush and herbaceous species), Persian Oak (Quercus brantii) natural regeneration, some physical and chemical properties of soil and physiographic factors were recorded in each sample plot. In each plot, the percentage of coverage for tree and shrub were measured regarding to the large and small canopy diameter. For herbaceous layer, Withaker, hasted plot sampling was used and 64 were defined as minimal area. In total, 4 trees, 3 shrubs, 1 bush and 78 herbaceous species, which belong to 73 genera and 32 families, were recognized. Multivariate analysis methods were used to classify and determine the relationship between species composition and environmental factors and also to define ecological species group. The results showed that there are five ecological species groups in the study area and the parameters such as: elevation, organic matter, N, P, K, percentage of saturated moisture (SP), Bulk density, pH, Clay and C/N were important factors. Base of the results of this study the third ecological species group had the highest biodiversity and richness in while the site of this group was more humid and had higher organic matters such as, N, P and K than the other sites. In contrary, the fifth group had high bulk density and low organic matters as well as the biodiversity and richness in this group were lower than the other groups
