The main intend of the study is to investigate the position of Information Technology in the development of Tourism industry in Lorestan province, and also to analyze the reasons why no radical decisions are made to absorb financial resources for tourism plans. Regarding the method of data collection, the research is qualitative and survey. To illicit data, questionnaire was used. The research statistical population included all the managers and those in charge of tourism sector in Loestan province and also active hotel-owners and contractors working in tourism industry. Having performed simple random sampling, a sample size including 196 individuals was chosen to be analyzed. The results of the research indicate that there is a direct relationship between the extent to which managers and those in charge of tourism sector are familiar with information technology and the development of tourism industry in the province of Lorestan. The results also show that managers' familiarity with the methods of financing, funds' allocation, expanding of credit and financial establishments and the amount of financing costs are some other factors effective on the development of tourism in the province.
