In this research, polyester and nylon fabrics were exposed to corona discharge and laser instrument. Wetting of
treated fabrics was determined and Surface morphology of corona discharge and laser treated fabrics was
assessed by SEM and FTIR/ATR analysis. After laser and corona treatment, wetting time decreases. FTIR/ATR
analysis of laser treated fabric shows chemical changes on the surface of the polyester and nylon fabrics that
hydroxyl groups appear on the surface of polyester fiber. Laser treated sample has a ripple like structure, but
corona treated polyester shows some cracks and particles on the surface of the fiber.
