چکیده :

There is little doubt that the internet has changed modern medicine forever. What used to take countless hours of digging through stacks of bound journals in a medical library now takes mere seconds behind a computer with a fast internet connection. Healthcare providers are challenged by the availability of information at the point of care. Overcoming these challenges requires access to current, reliable, and accurate information. Despite this new technology retrieving sufficient relevant information online is difficult for many users in medical science area because the users are inexperienced and do not search using proper keywords and the search engine is not able to receive the users real meaning through their given keywords. The search engines return a huge number of web pages, and then the users may take a long time to look at all of these pages to find their needed information. Information seeking based user interfaces are one of the most promising approaches to enhance existing search interfaces with features enabling users to better express their information needs or to improve exploratory search styles. However there is considerable scope for improving the design of these electronic resources interface to better support information-seeking. In order to design successful search user interfaces, it is necessary to understand the human information seeking process, including the strategies people employ when engaged in search.
