چکیده :

Colorimetric detection is a simple and cost-effective method for sensing hazardous materials such as ammonia and strong organic or inorganic acids based on color change of substrate before and after contact with mentioned materials. Also, green synthesis methods are new route that have been widely under exploration by many researchers due to no need to use toxic chemical, high temperature and high pressure with environmental and energy considerations. In this research, a rapid environmentally friendly route for in-situ synthesis and loading of cupric oxide nanoparticles on wool fabric without utilization any further chemical compounds is introduced. Seidlitzia rosmarinus ashes were used to obtain Keliab solution. The presence of cupric oxide nanoparticles on the wool fabric was previously confirmed by X-ray diffraction, EDX spectra and FESEM images. The treated fabrics were applied for colorimetric detection of liquid ammonia as well as strong inorganic or organic acids sensing such as sulfuric and formic acids. The color of the treated fabrics were changed to blue and white during the contact with two drops of mentioned chemicals. Overall, this method can be applied for colorimetric sensing properties of ammonia and strong inorganic and organic acids on the green in-situ synthesis of cupric oxide nanoparticles on the wool fabric.
