The Barremian-Aptian sediments in the Bararig section (Southwest of Kuhbanan) consist of an
alternation of marl and limestone. The palaeontological analysis led to identifiation of twenty seven taxa
of benthic foraminifera and algae in the section studied. Diverse assemblages of benthic foraminifera
and also the low planktonic/benthic (P/B) ratio show that the sedimentary environment in the study area
was oxygenated and shallow.
