Myths in poems of Jami

Abstract Historical and social changes leave undeniable effects on attitudes of poets. The present study aimed at going over the mysterious latencies of the literary Jām of Jami. The attempt was made by taking notes of Persian literature sources as a descriptive research. Based on the findings, the representation of myths has witnessed ups and downs against those of other eras in the Iranian culture. Divan of Jami is a striking work in terms of wise motifs and instructive concepts. His Ode of Jala Al-Rouh, also called Ode of Shinie which has been won much attentions, is abundant with wise and didactic teachings that reflect moral themes as well as wise and instructive thinking of Khāqāni. By an ambitious imagination and a creative thinking, Jami attempts to promote bravery and chivalry and becomes wrathful at tyrants. He believes the myths great,and makes beliefs of people in ancient times to last.
