چکیده :

Increased environmental issues and crises in the world and long-term consequences of environmental issues in human life are the main reasons for the increased importance of discussion regarding environmental issues. The most effective step to protect the environment is an evaluation of people’s behavior and performance to achieve primary principles of permanent life. This means that people must evaluate their behavior with regard to the environment. This study aimed to assess environmental behavior of students in the Agriculture College of Tarbiat Modares University based on Planned Behavior Theory. This descriptive research has been conducted using the survey method and a questionnaire. The study population consisted of 254 MSc and PhD students (second year), with 153 students selected as a sample based on the Krejcie and Morgan table. Required data were collected. The questionnaire validity was confirmed by faculty members and experts in the field, and its reliability was confirmed through a pilot test and Cronbach’s alpha calculation. Used path analysis showed that environmental attitude, perceived behavioral control, and environmental behavior intention have been significant effects in Planned Behavior Theory. We conclude that perceived behavioral control, intention, environmental attitude, and subjective norms had the most impact on the students’ environmental behavior.
