Abstract
Grass carp (Ctenopharyngodonidella) is a freshwaterherbivorous fish that is farmed for production of protein and improving the irrigation systems. In this study, the effects of Pretilachlor on some tissues, gill and liver, as well as the levels of glucose and cortisol in bloodstream of grass carp fingerlings were investigates. First, based on OECD 2001 (Organization Economic Cooperation Development), LC5096h and MAC (Maximum Allowable Concentration value)of the toxin on the grass fishes were determined as 1.43 mg/L and 0.143mg/L, respectively. Then, after preparation of the appropriate samples from gill and liver tissues, different pathological manifestation were observed in the tissues, in which, higher concentrations of the toxin caused more damages. The blood samples, also, showed that blood glucose and cortisol levels were increased in the exposed fishes to the toxin, and the increases were in association with the used doses of pretilachlor.
