چکیده :

The operational behaviours of thermal storage systems utilizing the latent heat of fusion of phase change materials (PCM) are simulated for symmetric balanced/unbalanced conditions. A unified two-phase model, which accommodates the performance prediction of cyclic thermal regenerators with encapsulated PCM or conventional packing, is solved numerically by finite difference method. Extensive numerical results revealed the effect of various parameters on the performance of such systems. The comparison of the results with the literature data proves the accuracy of the developed model.
