Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) contains a lot of very small sensor nodes measuring the environmental conditions in which they are spread. The task of sensors is to collect data, to convert them into an electronic signal, and to transmit signal for being processed in the base station via reliable wireless communication media. One of the challenges of these networks is limitation in energy sources that small batteries with low energy feed sensors. Clustering is one of the ways to reduce energy consumption, so that nodes classified in clusters, in each one, a node is selected as a cluster head. The cluster head is responsible for exchanging information with the base station, and other nodes use the head as an interface to communicate with the base station, and all information of each cluster is transmitted to the base station by the cluster head. In this paper, LEACH protocol using artificial intelligence is suggested to improve the energy efficiency of these networks. To achieve this goal, the proposed five-factor method includes the energy level of node, the number of neighbors, centrality, the distance of node with the base station, and the number of rounds that the node has not been cluster head have been applied in the fuzzy logic frame to select the cluster head. Selecting these factors and a node having these parameters as the cluster head, it improves the energy in the network, and it increases the network lifetime. The simulation results of the proposed method using 2-NS simulator shows the good performance of the proposed method as FLECH in the criteria of network lifetime and the number of alive nodes until the end of network lifetime.
