Influential factors of male high school student’s delinquency

The present research aimed to investigate the influential factors of male high school student’s delinquency in Paveh in the school year of 2013. The research was a descriptive-survey study. The research tools included the scientific sources, library books and the researcher-made questionnaire in two sections of demographic variables and specific questions on delinquency. The statistical population included 69 male students diagnosed with behavioral disorders (delinquent behaviors) of Paveh high schools. The sample comprised 39 students who were selected randomly using Cochran formula with standard error of .1, and responded to the research questionnaires. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results indicated that the rate of delinquency among the male sample was higher than average. Moreover, there exists significant relationship between the parent’s educational level, number of the family members, the monthly salary and delinquency (∝≤.05). Overall, delinquency in children and adolescents can be related to many factors such as cultural, social and economic problems. Therefore, the family can either take the first step in the proper upbringing of the child or pave the way for guilt, crime and deviation.
