چکیده :

In order to study the effect of savory (Satureja hortensis L.) powder (SP) and savory extract (SE), an experiment based on completely random design comprising 270 one day old broiler from (Ross-308) strain, 6 treatments, 3 replicates and 15 birds per replicates designed to evaluate blood parameters and gastrointestinal microflora of broiler chickens. Treatments included no additive (control), 1 % SP, 2% SP in feed and 100 ppm SE, 200 ppm SE and 300 ppm SE in drinking water. Data analysis was performed using SAS software and mean comparison was conducted by Duncan method. The results determined that using different levels of savory and it’s extract has significant effects on blood parameters (P<0.05) The results determined that glucose, cholesterol, triglyceride and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) at the rearing period was significantly influenced by experimental treatments (P<0.05) but the high-density lipoprotein (HDL) concentration in the experimental treatment was not significantly different (P>0.05). The results determined that the mean of Escherichia coli and Lactobacilli in ileum on day 42 showed that the mean of treatment was significantly different (P<0.05).
