Defining Organizational Size of Project Based Organization A Clustering Approaches (The Case of Department of Transportation and Traffic of Tehran Municipality)

The purpose of this research is finding and prioritizing the indexes that important in defining organizational size in project based organization. The next purpose is categorizing of the organization by a mentiond attribute and scientific method. To achieve the mentioned purposes, we had identified the factors contribute to define organizational size in project based organizations; next we had priortize these factors by multi attribute decision making (Analitical Network Process) method. By extracted weight from pervious steps and kmean clustering approaches, the contracrors was categorized in to clusters. Applications of statistical & mathematical approaches help researchers & managers to better organizanal studies like defining organizational size concept. The finding of this research reveals that suggested clustering approach is more reliable than heuristic method in classifications. Organizational size is an abstract and contingent concept which affected by sociological and economical factors. Hence external validity of finding is in doubt. This paper tries to propose new factors contribute to define the organizational size and innovative approches (statistical and mathetathical method) proposed in organizational study.
