چکیده :

The present study aimed to explore the relationship of parenting styles with internalizing and externalizing behavioral disorders among elementary school students in Zahedan. The study population included all elementary school students in Zahedan, district 2. Thirty male students were selected among all students of fourth and fifth grade of three elementary schools (Martyr Madani, Hadaf and Martyr Chamran) using cluster sampling method. To collect data related to behavioral disorders, Achenbach's Child Behavior Checklist was completed by teachers and Parenting Styles Questionnaire was completed by subjects’ parents. Data obtained were analyzed applying the Pearson correlation method. The results indicated that there was no significant relationship between the authoritative parenting style and internalizing and externalizing behavioral disorders of male elementary school students; however, there was a significant correlation among authoritarian and permissive parenting styles and internalizing and externalizing behavioral disorders of elementary school students (p< 5%).
