This study was conducted in order to investigate the relationship between personality aspects and
transformational leadership among the school managers of the educational regions 1 and 2 in Urumia. In order
to measure personality and transformational leadership, NEO-PIR and MLQ-5X questionnaires were used
respectively. The results indicated that Extraversion and Openness to Experience have a positive and
significant relationship with transformational leadership, but the other aspects didn’t have a significant
relationship with this variable. Moreover, Openness to Experience predicted about 15 percent of the
transformational leadership’s variance.
