چکیده :

The aim of this study is to examine the current and the desired situation of mass media in development of women's championship sports. Statistical population of this study is all the Administration, chairman and the vice Chairman of Youth and Sport Organization Khuzestan. Iran (N=95 ). Type of this research is descriptive survey study. The tolls for data collection was a self made questionnaire which its validity confirmed by Sport Administration and its reliability accepted through Cronbach's alpha. The results of this study showed that there are differences between cultural, educational and advertising role of mass media in current and desired situation (P <0.001 ). This means that mass media do not fulfill their mission in women‟s championship sports. Therefore it is recommended that media take effective steps in the development of women's championship sports through review in its multiple roles.
