Aims: Needlestick is one of the important stress-leading causes among nurses but there is no specific assessment tool in this regard. This study aimed to provide a reliable and valid method to assess the pertaining stress caused by needle stick. Materials & Methods: At first, the primary tool was designed based on 30 items using extensive review of texts. The face and content validities of this tool were subsequently ensured through qualitative and quantitative investigations (CVR and CVI). Finally, an exploratory factor analysis was implemented on 500 Iranian nurses in order to make it creditable. The reliability and correlation between domains were respectively determined by Cronbach's alpha and Pearson correlation coefficient. Findings: The final questionnaire was provided whit 20 items in four domains including safety policy, occupational safety, contact care and environmental- conditional circumstances with excellent reliability 0.92. Conclusion: Regarding acceptable reports on validity and reliability indices, therefore it is utilizable to assess the stress caused by needle stick by means of the proposed questionnaire.
