High Potential of Iran’s Southern Provinces to Develop Aquatics Farms

Aquatics are considerable as a basic food material globally specially for those who live at sea side areas. Naturally there is a direct relationship between marine pollutions increasing and aquatics decreasing process. Persian Gulf possessing a strategic importance for economical point of view. Daily a huge amount of oil and other products shipments in and out of Persian Gulf area. This phenomenon causes a tremendous amount of environmental pollutions which are hazardous for aquatics. Besides development of aquaculture has become the world’s largest growing. The south provinces of Iran have the high potential for fish and shrimp farming development because of suitable climate and geographical situation. The first step for scientific and sustainable development of aquaculture is better site selection. In traditional methods consideration and evaluation of all criteria in site selection is time consuming and difficult and thus for better site selection this is necessary to use decision making systems that can assess all of the criteria and consider importance and role of them at the same time.
