Results The results showed that the overall rate of parasitic infection in referral patients is 4.07 percent. Infection rate was 3.4 % among males and 4.7 % among females. The frequency of intestinal worms (Hymenolepis nana) 0.09% and intestinal protozoa (Giardiaand Entamoeba histolyticaand Entamoeba coli) was 3.7 % in which the highest percentage of pollution is allocated to the protozoan parasite Giardiawith a frequency of 3.1 %. Conclusion Base on the above findings and the prevalence of protozoa, it needs more emphasis about the environmental health, environmental refinement and especially, sanitation and also it needs to be persisted about continuous education of people in particular, the observance of principles of personal hygiene . .sabzevarIntroduction & objectives The prevalence of intestinal parasites is one of the important hygienic parameters to be considered in any society.
