Introduction: Preeclampsia is a disease with worldwide significance to mothers and infants. Preeclampsia etiology is elusive and theories abound regarding its pathogenesis. Recently homocysteine, has been postulated to produce oxidative stress and endothelial cell dysfunction, alterations associated with preeclampsia. The lack of folate, B6 vitamin, B12 vitamin is also related to hyperhomocysteinemia. Article Review: Hypertensive disease is a significant cause of maternal and fetal/neonatal morbidity and mortality. Preeclampsia is a disease with worldwide significance to mothers and infants. Its greatest impact is in developing countries, where it accounts for 20–80% of the strikingly increased maternal mortality. However, even in developed countries there is a major effect, primarily on the fetus. Recently homocysteine, has been postulated to produce oxidative stress and endothelial cell dysfunction, alterations associated with preeclampsia. The lack of enzymes added to the homocysteine metabolism or the cofactors necessary for its metabolism (folate, B6 vitamin, B12 vitamin) cause hyperhomocysteinemia. There is increasing support that supplementation of specific vitamins, minerals and ɯ -3 fatty acids can have a positive impact on maternal health in terms of prevention of preeclampsia, miscarriage, preterm birth, low birthweight, gestational diabetes and also on the long-term health of the baby. Conclusion: Identifying the association of homocysteine and vitamins with preeclampsia in pregnancy is effective for concentrating on preventing preeclampsia and related mortality and morbidity
