Considering suicide cognitions scale (SCS) reliability and validity in students

This study intended to consider suicide cognitions Persian Scale, reliability and validity .For this purpose, 380 (its 175 male and 175 female) students of Ahvaz Islamic Azad university were selected in randomized cluster sampling method and 30 (15 male and 15 female) people were selected in accessible sampling method among psychiatric patients referred to Ahvaz Golestan Hospital, Psychiatric clinic. scale content was factorially analyzed in main elements method which this analysis results was extracting two factors of "despair and intolerance", "handicapped and practical suicide possibility". Two scales of Beck's hopelessness and depression, anxiety and stress were used for considering convergent validity and divergent validity of scale of interest. This scale validity studying results in test-reset method also indicated validity of suicide cognitions scale. Also, the alpha coefficient was calculated for each factor of this scale. Total results from this consideration indicated this scale sufficiency for using in Iran.
