By considering the review of literature regarding psychological disorder, it seems that the studies of the prevalence of the disorders among the teachers’ important results were obtained. The present study aimed to investigate the prevalence of psychological disorder and the mental health of teachers of normal and exceptional schools in Zanjan city during 2007-2008. The sampling was done by cluster random method. The samples were 305 teachers in normal schools (120 men and 185 women), 74 exceptional school teachers (34 men and 40 women) who responded SCL-90-R tests, The Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) and individual and demographic characteristics questionnaire. T-test was used for independent groups, variance analysis and Scheffé test. The results of statistical analysis showed that psychological disorder among normal and exceptional elementary school teachers was 31.1, 32.4, respectively (P<0.05). There was no significant difference between mental health of normal and exceptional school teachers in terms of global severity index (GSI). According to data analysis, although there was no significant difference in terms of psychological disorder prevalence among two groups of teachers and psychological disorder in two groups was relatively high.
