Description of a new species of the genus Fessonia (Acari: Prostigmata:
Smarididae) from Iran. - Fessonia torshizica salarzehi & Hajiqanbar n.
sp. is described from larvae collected in the soil of vineyards in northeastern
iran. This is the second species currently known from larvae in the genus
Fessonia. some morphological characters of the new species are compared
with its only congener, F. papillosa (Hermann 1804).
