چکیده :

Cooperative learning is one of the appropriate alternatives to traditional teaching methods. The overall objective of this research which has been provided based on its findings is to examine the effectiveness of cooperative learning on student achievement in the cognitive domain of elementary course. Statistical population of this study was students in the fifth grade of elementary in Larestan town. 20classes were chosen from Larestan’sschools usingcluster sampling method, so that 10 classes were educated by traditional method and 10 other classes were educated in cooperative manner. Data which have been collected byPost-event and field surveys, were processed by statistical tests such as F, T and correlation. Findings at (α = 0.05)level indicate no difference between cooperative and traditional teaching methods. Also, there wasn’t any difference between boys and girls students. The findings of this studyshowed that the graduation rate of studentsis correlated with their numbers and their teaching method.
