FREEDOM IN LIBERALISM AND RELIGIOUS INTELLECTUALISM (INVESTIGATING THE POLITICAL-RELIGIOUS IDEAS OF ABDOLKARIM SOROUSH)

After collapsing communism, many scholars in last decades of 20th B.C. found liberalism as dominated ideology across the world. It is natural that a universal ideology, influence other minorities in the world. The hypothesis in this paper founded on the effect of liberalism on religious elitism after 1980, first decade after Islamic Revolution of Iran, case of Abdolkarim Soroush. Due to a wide range of researches and studies about liberalism and the wave of elitism which includes various scholars and writers in Iran we just focus on a general consideration about Soroush point of views in order to acknowledge the verification of our sample and test that how much these two overlap each other. Therefore, the main question might be how much the concept of freedom in liberalism cover the meanings of freedom in Soroush view point? Research methodology is analytical for an objective study and our sources composed of documents and books.
