چکیده :

The present study aimed to examine the relationship of religiosity with social adjustment and affection control in female high school students in Zahedan. This was a descriptive-correlational study. The study population included all female high school students in Zahedan (N=1200) among which 291 students were selected, as the sample, applying simple random sampling method. Data were collected using questionnaires. To collect data related to the variables under study, Khodayarifard’s Religiosity Questionnaire, Adjustment Inventory for School Students (AISS) and Affection Control Scale (ACS) were used. These questionnaires had content validity and the reliability for Khodayarifard’s Religiosity Questionnaire, Adjustment Inventory for School Students (AISS) and Affection Control Scale (ACS) was 0.82, 0.85, and 0.79, respectively. To analyze the obtained data, the Pearson correlation coefficient, regression analysis and one sample t-test were applied. It is worth noting that statistical analysis were conducted using SPSS-21. Results indicated that there were significant direct relationships between religiosity and social adjustment and between religiosity and affection control and its dimensions. Moreover, findings demonstrated that examining the priority of predictor variables of religiosity among students, in the first step, depressed mood and in the second and third steps, positive affection and anxiety were respectively the best predictor of students’ religiosity.
