چکیده :

The objective of this study is to implement a new analytical method which is a combination of the Variational Iteration Method (VIM) and the Padé approximant for solving steady flow over a rotating disk in a saturated highly permeable medium with heat transfer. The velocity and temperature profiles are shown and the influence of the Darcian drag forcer parameter (M) is discussed in detail. Dimensionless radial (F), tangential (G) and axial velocity (H) are all found to be generally decreased with increasing M, since larger M values imply a reduction in permeability of the regime and an increase in porous medium drag. Comparisons between the VIM-Padé and numerical solutions reveal that the new technique is a promising tool for solving such problems. It is anticipated that the VIM–Padé method has very good potential for addressing complex nonlinear fluid dynamics problems (e.g. thermal boundary-layer and free convection problems)
