چکیده :

Considering the importance of information technology and its main role in promotion of the quality of universities, also its effect on the students’ satisfaction, the current research has been engaged in the inspection of the relation between the application of Information Technology and satisfaction of Urmia university students. The research sample includes 130 students in different majors of different colleges in Urmia University. Correlation and regression test was applied as data analysis procedure. Highlights of the results have showed that the existence of the followings are essential: the application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and mobilizing the system with its facilities, retraining courses, professional support for university employees, ICT facilities for students, official correspondences, and financial support in order to establish ICT in the university. Furthermore, the electronic correspondence, such as electronic mail (Email), and financial support are required in order to obtain computer equipment, software and hardware, to attain the students’ satisfaction in the application of ICT. The students are interested in equipping the different units with progressive systems; meanwhile the existing facilities and the application of IT in the realm of university can promote the experience level of the academic staff causing the students’ satisfaction in education. Despite that, the existing IT facilities have not attained the students’ satisfaction, i.e., the students’ familiarity with computer skills, different web sites and communication networks among different levels of education have had no relationship with satisfaction, but the more familiarity with English language among
