Studying the impact of the Security Council’s comprehensive sanctions on Iran’s regional integration (case study: SCO

In previous years, the world witnessed a surprising growth of regionalism as a shield to reduce the damages of globalization process and on the other hand, saw some countries use economic sanctions as a tool to achieve foreign policy goals ever more. In this research, we used gravity model and data combination to study the impact of comprehensive sanctions of Security Council on Iran’s regional integration in SCO during 1995 to 2010. The results indicate Iran’s presence in SCO increases trade and strengthen its integration with other members of the organization up to 15% and comprehensive sanctions of Security Council do not have any significant impact on the integration.
