Influence of Traffic Issues in Intersection Lighting and Urban Nodes (Case Study: Level Intersections)

The basic function of lighting is the continuation of lighting hours at nights. Road and street lighting is the main part of public space lightning. The quality of visual information is important for traffic healthy and creating a sense of security in pedestrians. In the context of transport and vehicles, intersections are considered as important points in traffic, paths and crashes changing, so they are the critical points in traffic shaping. Therefore, their lighting is an important point in urban design. In this study, it will be tried to describe the traffic issues and study their role in intersection lighting, so this was a descriptive-analytical study. Results indicate their effectiveness on spotlights, size and brightness levels and number of lighting directions. The increased traffic and bandwidth split from the intersection or changing of these splits are effective on the lighting at intersections.
