Abstract
The human being's increasing need to energy is a factor of human interest in renewable new energies. According to the fact that fossil fuels cause to environmental and climate pollutions, renewable energies are important due to they can be an alternative for fossil fuels. After the oil crisis happened in 1970s, the strategy tending to new energies among social, economic and political researches of many countries was introduced. According to the country oil embargo and the undesirable situation of Isfahan Province, environmental and economic effects of replacing a geothermal 200 MW power plant to utilize the geothermal renewable energy were analyzed in this study. The study results show that a geothermal 200 MW power plant is able to scrounge consuming about 3 million barrels of crude oil annually. Therefore, its revenue can help Isfahan Province to have economic long-term planning to reach a 20-year point of view. Also, it will have the ability to reduce 90 to 95% greenhouse gas emissions.
