چکیده :

During the environmental loading of the wind turbine the monopile is subjected to lateral load cycles which might cause an accumulated displacement of the wind turbine. This study aims at investigating the behavior of offshore monopile by presenting a 3D numerical model for soil-structure analysis which captures efficiently the fundamental mechanisms of dry and saturated granular soil behaviour. The parametric studies were performed to quantify pile displacement and determine the effect of relevant factors. Among others, the functions of the cyclic load amplitude and loading frequency were investigated along with the effect of irregular load patterns on the monopile-soil system. The monopile response is highly influenced by system densification and soil dilation resulting from soil stiffness increase and development of negative pore pressures at shallow depths, respectively.
