The present research aims to investigate the relationship between the department heads’
duties and the performance of the academic staff members in Islamic Azad University’
Bonab Branch. The data collection instrument is a questionnaire. In order to test the
research hypotheses, Pearson and Friedman’s tests were used. The results show that there
is a relationship between the department heads’ duties and the performance of the
academic staff members. Also, the rate of the relationship between the department heads’
duties and the performance of the academic staff members; that is, the educational duties
of the department heads have the most relationship.
