A Comparative Study of Morphometric and Meristic Attributes of The Albino and common Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in Siyahkal River

Morphometric and meristic specifications of The Albino and common Rainbow Trout Oncorhynchus mykiss was studied in the year 2006. For this purpose, 24 morphometric attributes, 7 meristic attribiutes and 18 specifications in relation to the proportions of especiality of morphometric attributes of the Oncorhynchus mykiss were evaluated from the two populations. Anova, Factor Analyses and Discriminant Function Analyses were conducted on the data. Multivariate analyses show that there were significant differences between the albino and common Rainbow Trout of the two populations in most absolute and relative morphometric and meristic attributes. According to results the average coefficient of variation in morphometruc, meristic and proportion of especiality of morphometric attributes for albino Rainbow Trout was12.65, 6.15, and 10.92 and for common Rainbow Trout was 9.72, 7.24 and 9.81. The Oncorhynchus mykiss of the two populations showed meaningful differences in 22 morphometric factors, 4 meristic factors and 12 factor of proportion of the especiality had significant differences. Factor analysis showed that the Oncorhynchus mykiss of the two populations had 89.39% of changes in 3 factors of first morphometric attributes, 78.97% of changes in the 5 factors of the first proportion of morphometric Especialties and 76.49% of changes in the 2 factors of the first meristic attributes. We showed that, total length, fork length, standard length, proportion of total head to standard length, proportion of standard length to body depth, anal fin rays, pectoral fin rays and gill rakers can be used to separate albino Rainbow Trout and common Rainbow Trout of the fish from the two populations. Although we found different in morphometric specialties between the two specialties of morphometric and meristic attributes.
