چکیده :

In Iran, universities and research centers provided databases for their users from 1998. Now, most of Iran academic libraries offer e-journals for users. Databases, that Iranian unviersities subscribe them, are information systmes that present useful information for scholars. So, currtent paper studied on using Shahid Beheshti's subscribed databases by faculty members and graduate students of this University. New consortial buying models have dramatically increased the availability of online resources, particularly journal articles, in the universities and technical institutes of developing countries. The degree of acceptance and pattern of use of such materials is of great interest to library collection development. Ankara University surveyed faculty members regarding their awareness and use of these electronic materials (Atiligan and Bayram, 2006). Sotoodeh (2003) had a survey on using e-journals in Tehran University. This study reported a web log analysis of Elsevier’s ScienceDirect usage at Tehran University. She found that the server traffic is highest in Tuesdays. The usage is highest during 12PM through 6PM and lowest during the early morning hours. More than half of the requested PDF files were successfully downloaded and the rest is responsed by error messages. This showed that the accessibility of c-articles is not satisfactory. Karimi et al (2008) studied on using databases in Isfahan Medical University. They found among databases, Elsevier had the most and Springer had the least cost benefit. They suggested that Manager of informatics system must use management techniques, such as cost analysis method, to make the best decision to decrease the costs.
