Report on parasite of camels (camelus dromedarius) from slaughterhouses of Sabzevar

‌Background: The aim of the present study is report of parasite of camels (Camelus dromedarius) from slaughterhouse of Sabzevar city. Materials and Methods: A total of 70 camels were examined in slaughterhouse of Sabzevar.Various organs including the gastrointestinal tract, abdomen, liver, lung, nasal cavity, kidneys, heart and blood smears of contamination were examined for various parasites. Samples was cleared with lactophenol and stained with acetocarmine. Then they were identified by diagnostic keys. Following parasite other organs visible with the naked eye and shred them were studied. Results: In total, five species of parasites in infected organs were identified including: Abomasal: Haemonchus contortus (4.28%), small intestine: Monenzia expansa (8.57%), Monenzia benedeni (11.42 percent), Stilisia globipunctata (7.14 %), Liver: Hydatid cyst (28.57 %), lung: Hydatid cyst (4.28%). Conclusion: This study reported internal parasite of camels in Sabzevar for the first time. Therefore, hygiene can be effective in controlling the disease. due to little information about the infection further investigation is recommended in this area
