The purpose of this research is to investigate the level of familiarity of elementary school teachers of West Azerbaijan province with the basics of lesson planning and learning principles in order to provide ways to improve and improve their knowledge and skills. The method of conducting the research is the evaluation type and the statistical community of teachers working in primary schools of West Azerbaijan province in the academic year of 1403-1404. The statistical sample is 360 primary school teachers of West Azarbaijan province, who were selected by simple random multi-stage cluster sampling. The data were analyzed at two descriptive levels (using frequency distribution tables, frequency percentage, mean and standard deviation) and inferential (using Z and F tests). The findings of the research indicate that the level of knowledge of elementary school teachers about the basics of lesson planning and learning principles was lower than average. The average score of the test measuring the level of knowledge of elementary school teachers about the basics of lesson planning and learning principles was obtained (on a 20-point scale) and there is a significant difference between the average scores according to the variables of gender, educational qualification, field of study and service experience. The highest average scores were related to the teachers of the educational sciences group with a master's degree and experience of 10 to 19 years, and the lowest of them were related to the teachers of the basic sciences group with a bachelor's degree and an experience of 20 to 29 years.
