چکیده :

Background and Aim : Human blood is an essential element of life. Availability of safe blood and blood products is a critical component in improving health care. To find out knowledge, attitude and ways to enhance voluntary blood donation in people, we designed to understand this aim. Methods : A structured questionnaire was provided to 90 voluntary blood donors to assess their knowledge, attitude and practice with respect to blood donations. Results: The sample population involved mostly men (97.8%) in the age-group of 17-65 (37.65±11.72) years Results : The most motivation of blood donation was spiritual motivation after that humanitarian and the incentive to control health status. There was a significant difference between the number of blood donation and control health status (p <0.02), but no significant difference was found between two other motive and frequency (p> 0.05). Conclusion : A majority of the donors were willing to be regular donors. Voluntary blood donation‘ can elevated suitability of blood needs of a state or for that matter the entire country.
